SMART will match, via a new SMART scholarship, the Federal Pell Grant award for every qualifying individual who submits a completed application along with supporting documentation as stated below. Pell Grant matches will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the Grant Allocation has been exhausted. Funds will expire in two years if unused.
NOTE: Qualification requirements have changed for the 2025-2026 school year.
The minimum requirements that must be met to be considered for the SMART Grant include the following:
- Four (4) prior seasons of USBC membership history.
- At least one (1) season as a USBC Youth Member
- Membership does not have to be consecutive
- Not required to be a current USBC member
- Must have a current SMART account balance of less than $1,000.
- Must be able to use the funds within eight (8) years of your high school graduation.
- Have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and must have received a Federal Pell Grant.
